    I am trying to animate text out. Each word moves up and it fades out. However the next word in the line doesn’t start moving until the word previous has moved the full distance. Is there any way to adjust this so I can make the animation start at roughly 50% completion of the previous word?

    Hi, what is your setup? Is it a preset? Expression?

    I just added a position Animator to the text layer. Set the position I wanted the words to move to, then key framed the start in the range selector to go from 0% to 100%.

    No expressions no presets.

    I do have another animator on the text that fades the text in by character, but even without that I can’t get the text to do what I want.

    Mmmm. My only suggestion would be;
    duplicate your layer twice
    top layer: delete even lines (2, 4, etc) set new line spacing so that it matches up with the other layers
    second layer; delete odd lines, set new line spacing – should be same as top layer – move lines down so they match up with layer 3
    Turn off or delete 3rd layer (only needed to line up text)
    Slide keyframes on 2nd layer so it starts 50% through first movement of layer 1.

    There may be a simpler, more elegant way of doing it but…
