I have PP CS3 and we will be upgrading to CS5 very soon. I am wondering if they have fixed the issue of keyframes being allowed in between frames.

I am just curious. But I find myself being pretty annoyed by it when I end up doing quick motion effects in Premiere.

    thanks everyone.

Are you saying that this is a “bug”?

There is areason why they call them “keyframes”… Video editing systems process video a frame at a time, so even though there isn’t anything preventing you from putting more than one keyframe within the temporally defined video frame, the software can only create one frame in that spot…

Maybe I don’t understand your question… You’ve been able to keyframe audio in sub-frame increments since PPro since version 1.0.

Sorry. Don’t think I was too clear in my original question. In PP CS3, you are able to put keyframes in between keyframes. Like this:

Between video frame 7;10 and 7;12 (2 video frames) there are 5 keyframes.

That is what I am saying. There is nothing to prevent me from putting more than one keyframe within a video frame, whether I want to or not.

I find myself pretty frustrated when I try and adjust the parameter of one keyframe and then realize that instead I added a completely new keyframe that is within that same video frame.

In CS5 is there anything to prevent me from doing this?

    Thanks.

    Oh…I’ve got it now.

While I can’t remember how the cursor reacted in CS3…(it must be positionable in between frames to be able to produce the extra keyframes “within” the single frame), I know I can’t seem to position the cursor in CS5 to do this now that I try to produce what you have here…

I don’t work with interlace material as a rule, so I don’t know if it will allow a keyframe to be tied to a “field” or not…

Yeah. All of our footage is progressive as well. So it sounds like CS5 has a better way of dealing with it now.

    Thanks for the help.
