I’m having a problem when I put a video effect on a clip in the timeline it shows a red bar an not a yellow one to play on real time. I have enabled the mercury playback engine gpu acceleration on video rendering and playback general section. Here are my PC specs:
    OS: Win 7 Professional SP1
    Processor: i7-3820 3.6GHZ
    Ram: 64
    System type: 64 Bit
    Graphic Card: GTX470 (adobe approved)
    Graphic Card drivers: 306.97 (latest)

    What effect did you apply?

Not all effects are accelerated. See GPU-accelerated effects [link] for more, or look for the GPU acceleration icon (three lines and a play symbol in a Lego brick in the effects panel).

RBG and Luna Curves are accelerated. I thought maybe it’s the Cuda drivers but what is strange is that I’ve also have CS5.5 installed (same PC) and the GPU is working fine on it.

Download the latest NVIDIA drivers and install them. If you’re using standard WHQL drivers via Microsoft, I find that you sometimes don’t light up CUDA.

FWIW I was having issues in Windows 7 with Cuda like black screens while pausing and various little oddities with the video with a GTX 285. I went back to the last pre v3 drivers they had and it all worked perfectly. This was as of a week a go so unless the NVidia has just put up new ones it might be worth a try.
