    Anybody else getting Kernel Panics from their Cubix?

    I thought maybe it was the RED Rocket, so I moved that to another tower, but I still get a ton of Kernel Panics whenever I have the Cubix plugged in.

    But no Cubix, no Kernel Panic.

    It’s ridiculously frustrating; any ideas would be appreciated.

    12core 2.93Ghz
    16GB RAM
    3x GTX 285
    1 Blackmagic Decklink
    1 Nvidia GT120

    My 285 are mixed brand (NVIDIA and I think it’s MGA), perhaps that is the issue?

    I would try pulling everything out of the Cubix and see if the Panic persists, if so then you probably have a bad Cubix. If not then put the GPUs back in one at a time until you find the bad one.

    Thanks, I gave that a shot and it crashed again (no cards in the box at all). It took longer to crash (1 hour into a 2 hour render instead of 5-8 minutes in), but it still totally crashes.

    So, it’s a bad Cubix; thanks!

    Bad Cubix board or bad Cubix card in the Mac or bad Cubix cable but yeah bad Cubix….

    I know that Mic Grover in Support is working with Charles, but please contact support@cubix.com if you’re running into any funky problems – whether they’re daily or just very 1-2 weeks.

    Cubix support has been incredibly helpful, and it doesn’t appear to be the Cubix causing the issue. We still haven’t found out precisely what it is, but Cubix it is not.

    thanks for all the advice, trying the cards one at a time in the Cubix definitely helped us determine what it’s not, which is a step on the process to figuring out what it is.
