I saw this cool split screen effect on an episode of CSI and I am trying to figure out how to do it in Vegas. They basically split a clip into thirds, 3 sections with a black border in between. Then they would quickly fade in one at a time with a flash transition on each to restore the original clip. The part I am having trouble with is splitting the clip into thirds so I can place them in separate tracks. I imagine I would create 3 clips of the original then mask or use crop/pan to show the left third-middle third-right third? So far not working. Any ideas?
