CS6 Premiere Pro performance with Kona 3 on the PC?
Posted by Tom Daigon on July 29, 2012 at 2:34 amI posted this a while back but never got any feedback so I am trying again 😀
I switched from Mac to PC. I would like to hear from Premiere Pro CS6 users (PC) that also use the AJA Kona 3 systems. Are you getting good performance from the Kona 3 with the most current drivers? Why or why not?

July 29, 2012 at 6:52 pmWow, so no folks here on a PC are using Kona 3, huh. Thats a surprise. I will wait to get some feedback from folks on the web before making the installation into the new HP Z820. No need to expend the energy if its not working right yet.

July 31, 2012 at 6:17 amHi Tom,
We put our LHi in the Z820 and it works fine in Premiere BUT nowhere else. i.e. None of your system sounds play through it.
Not sure if this is the same issue with the Kona 3?
Sorry.

July 31, 2012 at 12:44 pmNo, the problem I experienced was the audio was intermittent when playing back in the PrP timeline. Sometimes it could be heard and sometimes it couldn’t be heard.

July 31, 2012 at 11:18 pmSo are you getting system audio through your Kona 3 no problem?
BTW I really enjoyed your dance vid. Very nicely put together.

July 31, 2012 at 11:28 pmHi Alex. Thanks! Im glad you enjoyed it.
I am taking the analog audio out of the Kona 3 breakout box and feeding to inputs on my audio amplifier thats driving the speakers in the edit bay. I have always only gotten the PP-Kona 3 output this way, never computer system audio. I have the Mac Pro headphones output set on another input on my audio amplifier
So I never thought this was a problem.

August 1, 2012 at 12:25 amGotcha.
Although our LHi card has always come up as an option in the sound system preferences on our Mac Pros but did not on the Z820. I guess I just assumed it wasn’t going to be any different.
I assumed wrong. Headphones output it shall be.
Cheers,
