Sometimes when I play my sequence, my audio plays without any problems while my timeline indicator and video remain frozen for half a second or so before moving – causing out of sync playback.

It does this about a third to half of the time. Other times it plays just fine. Can anyone please suggest some things to check?

I’m on a Mac Pro – 32 GB ram. I did have a nVidea Quadro 4000 for Mac graphic card but swapped it out for the original Radion ATI video card thinking it could be causing the problem. I also confirmed that my AJA LHi setting were correct with the folks at AJA.

My footage is AVCHD – MTS files. My project settings are AVCHD 1080p 30. I’m running CS 6.0.1 and Mac OS 10.7.4

    Any help would be appreciated!

Are you monitoring your audio out of the AJA card too? I’ve heard adobe mercury transmit has a 1-2 frame delay from what is on the computer monitor compared to the video output, so to have proper synced audio you need to monitor audio from your output card & not the built in audio on the mac.

I’m monitoring the audio from the computer output and not the client monitor. I know about that 1 – 2 frame delay going out to the client monitor. What is happening here is that I hit ‘Play’ and the audio starts playing then 30 – 45 frames into the timeline the video starts playing.

I can play the clip 10 times in a row – sometimes it is flawless and other times the timeline indicator and video don’t move while the audio plays. The video stalls for a second or two and runs out of sync.

I’ve tried moving the footage to a local drive thinking that the video was getting delayed from our shared drive but the same thing happened.

    Any clues?

Have you found a solution to this problem? I’m running into the same issues. It’s quite serious, as it delays my workflow regularly

I was originally monitoring audio out of my computer as opposed to the AJA card and that was the issue for me. I had monitored out of my computer when I had a mac and blackmagic card with no problems.
As soon as I switched over to monitoring audio out of the card the problem went away. There was still a delay, but at least it was synced.
Shortly after, however, the AJA audio kept dropping.
I’ve ended up turning off any monitoring through the card for the time being until they get this sorted out.
I’m really very frustrated with this card. It’s causing so many problems for me.
