  • CS6 not seeing MPEG-2 XDCam HD footage

    Hello,
I am turning over a project from FCP7 to Premiere CS6 on a PC. I have been successful with other projects using ProRes 422 as well as ProRes HQ, but the MPEG-2 format that has been exported using XDCam Transfer on a Mac is showing up as unsupported when I open Premiere on a PC. Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Victor

XDCAM in a .MOV file is only supported on mac. (thanks a lot apple.) You’ll ether need to convert the footage to another format or find and relink to the original XDCAM files.

I believe there is also a program out there which can unwrap the XDCAM codec from the .mov file.

Thanks for the reply. Ended up converting the footage due to the original XDCam Discs no longer being available. Since switching to CS6 we have been keeping folder structures of all incoming media. Unfortunately this project is a few years old and the only media available came from XDCam Transfer.
    Thanks
