Hey guys, pre CS6 when you created a mask on a layer, the transform controls bounding box adjusted to fit the size of the mask.

Now it seems to stay the original size of the layer.

Has anyone else found this or is there an option somewhere to change it?

I have a big illustrator document with many small icons spread out across it. I only want one icon masked at a time, and it’s painful to have the transform controls at the original edges of the huge layer.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,

It is the same with CS6 too.

Try to make the mask again. May be there is some other problem with it.

Also, You can open Illustrator file in PS and then Cut the icons you want as PNG and then import that file in AE. It will also work faster due to small size.

Just checking in to say I found that this occurs when continuously rasterize is switched on for that layer. Looks to be the way things are supposed to work I just must have never encountered a situation where I noticed before.
