I am doing animtion in Photoshop CS6 (Windows) using the video timeline. I can select “duplicate frame” from the “layer/video layers” menu but I can’t find this command in the keyboard shortcuts window. I desperately need to add a hotkey for this command – it’s taking me forever to use the menu every time I want to duplicate the frame I’ve just created. Anyone know how?

I’m imagining this is the same on Windows as the Mac, but some of the fine details might be a little different. Go to Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts… (Ctl_Alt-Shift-K on Windows, I think?) and set the popup menu to Application Menus. Twirl down the Layer line and scroll down to Timeline. There you should see a line for Duplicate Frame. Click on it and add whatever keyboard shortcut you would like. Click Accept, hit OK, and you should have your custom keyboard shortcut.

    More fun, too.

    Hey Jeff
    Thanks for the response.
I’ve done everything you suggest but there is no line for duplicate frame.
    An oversight by Adobe?

Whoops. Correct procedure, just in the Keyboard Shortcuts window, twirl down Layer, then Video Layer, not Timeline. You should see a line item in there for Duplicate Frame.
