    CS5.5 Upgrade – 32 bit machine

    Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    Number Of Processors: 2
    Total Number Of Cores: 4
    2.66 GHz
    Memory: 8 GB

    32 bit.

    The machine is in need of an AE update. But I only have the option of upgrading to CS5.5 from the adobe site, which requires a 64 bit system. I’m having trouble finding an update to CS4.

    I’m aware that when you purchase production premium of a PC, that you get a copy of CS4 to resolve this problem.

    Is this also the case when it comes to upgrading only AE, to CS5.5 on a mac?

    Or are there any other options to upgrade?

    osx has a 64-bit kernel, so 64-bit should not be a problem. but you need to check the version of the os to make sure that is supported but cs5.5. i believe that cs5.5 works with leopard and up, but do double check that.

    a definitive option is to download the trial of cs5.5 and see how it works on your machine.

    i do think you’ll want to get more ram.
