CS5.5 speech analysis with Sony EX-1
I have CS5.5 running on a Windows 7 machine. I have installed the American English module but I still can’t analyze EX-1 clips with it – the option on Clip/Analyze Clip and in the metadata window is grayed out.
Do I need to change something with how I import the clips with regard to metadata? I never use any of the metadata information but I wonder if I clicked a box somewhere at some point in the past. I looked through the options under Tool/Option in Clip Browser but nothing seemed to apply.
This is video shot on an EX-1 imported with the Sony XDCAM clip browser.

Figured it out. I had converted some of my files to MXF instead of saving the entire file structure of the SxS card to my hard drive and then navigating in PP’s Media Browser. That did the trick.
