CS5.5 Aja kona 3 source monitor choppy external plays fine
Looking for some help on getting cs5.5 editor and client friendly. I have a 2xquad core (which means 8) that runs fcp 7 and avid 5.5 just fine. On a dual boot system. Would love to have cs5.5 replace my fcp 7 / motion / shake workflow. I can’t seem to get picture to play back smoothly on my preview/ source monitor and the external monitor at the same time like it does in fcp and avid. I’ve spoken to Aja and they gave my some advice on making sure the afx pluggin is not installed and other install order protocols.. Read all of Walter’s threads and watched his transition tutorials. Some do get close to my issue but none fully address play back being completely smooth in both the desktop viewer/source monitor and my external monitor. I’ve heard it does work so it’s just a matter of someone saying ….oh you just have to do this.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for the Kona card. Make sure that your sequence is an AJA one. Also, check that Player Settings in Prefs is set to AJA.
