When i first create a project, im trying to choose the video render for the mercury playback engine. And it’s not letting me select it for some reason. My operating system is an imac 27 inch. quad core, 16g of ram, with the graphic card ATI Radeon 5750. Can anyone give me some insight on this issue?

You probably mean, MPE GPU acceleration vs. software only.

MPE GPU acceleration is greyed out because the graphics card is not supported by Adobe.

So if the graphic card that i have for my system is not supported by adobe, Then what kind of graphic card is supported by adobe? So in other words i cant use the MPE options at all…..

The link in my previous post will get you to an Adobe page with a listed of officially supported NVidia models: a couple of GeForce and several Quadro cards. No ATI cards are or can be supported.

Note that MPE is not the same as GPU acceleration. Native 64-bit computing and multi-threading are among MPE benefits you can use regardless of GPU.
