Activity Forums Adobe Photoshop CS5 performance issue?

    Hey all-

Just recently got the CS5 Production Premium, and its looking pretty crispy. However, photoshop cs5 seems to destroy my overall system performance. As in, other programs lock up, apple-tabbing locks up, etc.

I didn’t have any problems with cs3/cs4, and I don’t seem to have any trouble with the other CS5 applications, so I’m not sure what the hang up is.

Activity monitor doesn’t show any massive spike in CPU usage, so I think it has something to do with the openGL business.

    Here are some stats:

    System:

    Mac OSX 10.6.4
    2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    17 GB RAM
    NVIDIA Quadro FX-4500 OpenGL Engine

    Performance settings in PS:

Scratch disc has 94 GB available.
Let photoshop use 11476 MB (69%) memory
    History States 20
    Cache Levels 6
    Cache title size 1024K
    Enabled OpenGL Drawing

    Thoughts?
