    Hello!

    I have a problem.
No matter which formats/codecs I try to output my footage, I get every time a huge crappy border (on top & footer) on my vid.

Take a look at this screenshot:
    https://www.abload.de/img/export26sh.png

So, I think the problem is the pixel-format, I underlined it. How can I change it to the input specifications?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Looking at the shape and border size I am guessing your timeline is 720 and you want to export to 1080.

You need to tick the box to fit source to output.

Forget wording and not on computer ATM. But you will know you’ve ticked or switched it when the output panel shows the frame fit the edge/s.

    Hello,

the problem is that I don’t want to cut the left and right end of the footage out.

Here is a litte sample clip out of the cam:
    https://speedriding-videos.com/FILE0009.MOV
    (~8mb)

So if I tick the box in the Media encoder I get a good result without the borders, but the problem is that I get footage with 1440x1080p, but I want 1920x1080p.

I have to change the pixel aspect ratio to 1.21 if I remember right but I have only these 4 options… What can I do?

    Greetings,

I just tested your MOV file on my install of CS5 and your export should be fine, if you use a 1920×1080 format out. I used HDTV 1080 MPG2 preset, which I think is where you were going and all looked fine. Change your output preset to a standard one is the only answer I can see. I’m not using German so if you show me a screen of the preset drop down, I can maybe help you select one.

You ARE using the full release of the software, right?

Yes, I am using the full version.

    So I’ve uploaded this:

    I get the borders again.
Is anything in my project settings wrong? Is there any possibility to change them now without cutting everything again?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Whenever you export to 1920×1080, always change your pixel aspect ratio to 1.0.

    Is your timeline 16:9?

    Yes.

I have found the problem (I am an idiot, really…)

The sequence-settings are wrong. I think I have selected a wrong settings preset…

So I’ve created a new sequence with 1080p and it works! The rendering is quite fast (it doesn’t takes up so much time).

My only big problem is that I have to copy all cut-settings into the second sequence, if this is not possible I have to cut the complete clip again…

So is it possible to transfer the “cuts” to another sequence? Or even to change the sequence-settings?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Yep, you can select all and copy. Open the other Sequence and Paste. All edits will come over.

The only thing you may need to do is set the clips to Scale to Frame, only if they don’t fit to the frame as expected.
