    Hi,

I did look around but did not see any similar posts.

I just installed CS5 and a new Decklink Studio 2 in the following machine.

    Core i7 920
    Asus P6T SE mobo
    12 Gb RAM
    ATI HD4950 grfx card
    1x Windows Drive
2 TB drives in RAID 0 for footage
1 TB drive for bit and bobs

Running driver 7.6.4 and Win 7 64 on a clean install with only PPro, After Effects and QT installed on the system.

1st issue, when I try and open a project finished in CS4, Premiere tells me it cannot open the editing mode of the project and then defaults back to ‘desktop editing’ mode. Which means I have to create new sequences and then copy and paste the old sequences onto the new ones to be able to get Decklink output.

Is anybody else experiencing this? Is there any solution to this?

Also had a couple of crashes when scrubbing the timeline. The file that the windows crash report mentioned was MSVCR90.DLL

After 1 of the above mentioned crashes, windows also said the Adobe.QT64 (might be wrong, going from memory here) server crashed. Running the latest QT version.

    Any ideas?

    quick update.

It seems to only give me the cannot open editing mode issue on certain projects.

Any idea why this would happen?

All the projects I’ve tested was straight BM 10bit UNC PAL projects.

Below is the message I get:

The editing mode used by this sequence could not be opened. The sequence will be opened in Desktop mode.

Start a new CS5 job, and import the older CS4 job. That should solve your “desktop mode” issue.
