First of all, sorry for the long post.

Premiere CS5.0.4 is crashing constantly on my 8-core MacPro. It does not seem to have any specific time it does it. Open the program, importing footage, editing, exporting: at almost anytime it might go down. I am baffled and at a loss, any recommendations would help.

I have deleted the com.apple.audio.AggregateDevices.plist file, updated to CS5.0.4 because I have a ATI Radeon HD 4870 video card. I also have a Blackmagic SDI card (current version as well). What else should I look for?

    Here are my system specs:
    Mac Pro
    MacPro4,1
    Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    2.93 GHz
    8-Cores
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per processor): 8 MB
    16 GB RAM

    ATI Radeon HD 4870
    Slot-1

    IEEE 1394 Open HCI
    Slot-3

    Blackmagic Decklink SDI
    Slot-4

    eSATA PCI card
    Slot-2

Storage includes a Promise DmartStore DS4600 to eSATA, various G-Tech drives connected via FW800

I also have a LaCie Blu-Ray burner attached to the system

Adobe Master Collection CS5 (updated to 5.0.4)
    FCS2 6.0.6
    Flip For Mac Pro

Do I need to ditch the ATI card, Blackmagic SDI card or Memory? I am not having any issues in FCP at all (even with the Blackmagic card). Could there be a conflict with the ATI card, Blackmagic card and Premiere CS5.0.4?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really liking editing in Premiere, but am really sick of it being unstable.

    Thanks in advance,
    David

Make sure you have the latest BMD drivers.

I’m running 8.2 now. I guess I should move to the Beta 8.2.1.

I think the card is also making my audio fuzzy at times. When I’m in FCP, about every half hour everything sounds like I’m scrubbing for about 30 seconds and then back to normal.

Bad memory has caused similar intermittent crashing on several of my systems. After testing found errors, the problem was fixed by replacing the memory. The last time it was Corsair card that went bad. It had a lifetime warranty and Corsair shipped new cards free of charge.
