    Hello all of you

(I’m new to the forum – been reading quite some time, but now I actually registered). I’m having trouble trying to open clips that have been imported in PPro CS3 in an new 4.1 project. “file is not supported or damaged ” (my Premiere runs in german, so that is a translation). The codec is mp2t, it opens fine in vlc for example. Any ideas? It can’t be permissions -the files are on an external hd-, I checked them.

[Dominik Marosi] “the files are on an external hd”

Copy one of the problem clips to an internal hard drive and try importing it. Does it behave any differently?

    Cheers

thanks for the quick answer! But no, it gives the same message as before: “file format not supported or file damaged.” All clips are shown as offline. I suspect I have the same problem I read about in another thread: the 4.1 update shot my mpeg-codec, so I guess I have to reinstall…. ah, premiere!
