  • CS4 update not working??? Please help

    Hi all.

I received a R3D project a few months back and found out that once you installed the 4.1 patch for CS4 you can edit it natively without any re-encoding needed. I installed the patch and the red-codec and it worked brilliantly.

My problem is this. I had to re-install windows and since then I have never been able to get it to work again. Originally I thought the red codec didnt install correctly (since it jst runs and exits so quickly) but now that I’m looking closely, the only change, after the patch, is on the load-up screen where it says CS4.1.0. When I get to the sequence presets its completely the same as before the patch. No AVCHD or R3D support. Nothing. I cant even create a custom project and import the files cause its not supported.

I’m running WinXP 32bit, 4gb ram, 4x250gb sata, nvidia 8600gt. All drivers are updated. I dont understand. It worked originally but now the patch installs without any errors but it does nothing. If anyone has this problem or know how to fix please let me know.

    Thanx in advance.

    Hello,

Was wondering if you ever found a resolution to this issue as the same thing has happened to me. I installed the plugin fine on my laptop, but my desktop PC, which has the same specs as yours, does not show the RED plugin in the initial Preset folder. Thus, no way to bring RED files into the program. Thank.

    Hia.

Not sure but after u install the update simply edit another project and after bout 10 minutes premiere sais it needs to update drivers. Accept and then all will be fine after the program asks for a restart.

The 4.2 update is out now and its been working 1st time with this so you should try to get that patch. Also get the 4.2 patch for Adobe Media Encoder or you wont be able to output to anything useful.

    good luck
