Posted by Tracy Peterson on October 21, 2008 at 4:24 pmI asked once before, but I have to ask again now that CS4 is shipping, when is deck-link going to be working in CS4?

October 22, 2008 at 11:28 amJust thinking the same thing. I have CS4 Master Collection arriving next week. I know when I was beta testing CS3, a new Decklink driver had to developed to make it work with CS3. The CS2 ones didn’t work, but hopefully it will not a problem this time.

October 22, 2008 at 11:05 pmHi Peter,
You’ll definitely need new CS4 compatible drivers. The current drivers for CS3 will not work. Other than that, all I can say is that we’re definitely working on it.

October 23, 2008 at 1:35 amhey Peter if you want to live on the cusp of new technology there is some pain and suffering you have to endure… but my theory is that if earlier version drivers won’t work with later software packages it is a good sign that they have re-worked the interface for the better… but it is Adobe we are talking about here isn’t it…. and they can sometimes send the BMD engineers into a never ending loop!
What would I do without the ‘UNDO’ button!!!!

November 3, 2008 at 5:20 amI tried the current CS3 drivers but like you, but no go. If you look in the right CS4 folder, you’ll see the presets have different extensions from CS3.

November 5, 2008 at 3:33 amForgot about those darn drivers…
After months of deliberating, I am making the leap from PC to Mac. Ordered a Mac Pro, Multibridge Pro and CS4 which will be here on Nov 7. Didn’t realize the CS4 drivers arent out yet. Any chance they will be out by Friday 🙂
Wishful thinking. So do I stay with CS3 and install the blackmagic card. Or do I install CS4 and pray that the Mac Pro with dual quad 3.0mhz processors keeps up with HDV/XDCAM. I would rather install the CS4 and grin and bear it for a few weeks. However if it is going to be a couple of months, I would like to advantage of the blackmagic card I have.
Thoughts?
