I’ve just acquired a new editing computer and need to configure CS4. Premiere by default puts the project file on the boot drive, but I’m wondering if it is better to go a different drive? I currently have the boot drive and a very fast RAID 0 array. I’m assuming that all of the scratch disks, media cache and the like should be on the RAID 0?

    Thanks,
    Warren

    Hi,
    Sounds sensible:
It’s common to have the operating system and applications on one disk, your project files on another, and maybe a third as a scratch disk. I’ve got two disks RAIDed together as my projects disk, and “normal” disks for the OS and for scratch/backup.
Though of course, ease of use and ease of BACKUP are sometimes more important than theoretical speed.
    I hope that helps
