I would really like some help. How do you render or export so you get a MWV format in AE CS4? I am a mac user and I cann’t find any settings including MWV. Do I have to do this through a PC?
Can I create any results in other programs such as Premier or Adobe Media Encoder?
Any solution is much appreciated. Thanks!

you should be able to ‘export’ a wmv from ae… open your comp, then choose file>export>windows media…

i can’t vouch for the quality of a wmv from ae. if it doesn’t look good, you may want to inquire about a wmv utility for mac on the compression techniques forum, or optimal settings for the wmv export in ae (it does have a setting for 2-pass vbr, which surprises me a bit, since ae doesn’t usually handle 2-pass encoding, but 2-pass vbr is usually the way to go…)

You might need Flip4Mac. Or you could make an Animation-compressed movie, then use QT Pro to Export to Windows Media.

I just realized that I typed in the wrong file name. It is WMV (windows media video). Sorry for the mess up. I know that it was possible in CS3, have they taken away this function or changed it to a better format?
