CS4 production premium – AE render engine installation?
Am i missing something obvious? how do you install just the ae render engine for cs4 (specifically the production premium)? – on mac
It used to be an option when you did the installation with the standalone ae installer. the render engine gets installed when you do full install, but i need/want to use spare machine(s) as part of render farm. Or has adobe stopped letting you install the render engine for network renders – requiring a full license for each machine?
cant find anything on adobe’s website and calling tech support… 45 mins on hold… gave up.

from “Installation, activation, and registration” in After Effects CS4 Help:
“In addition to the full version of Adobe After Effects, you can also install additional copies on additional computers to use as After Effects render engines to assist with network rendering. You install render engines in the same manner as the full version of the application, but you do not activate them. You run the render engine using the Adobe After Effects Render Engine shortcut in the Adobe After Effects CS4 folder.”
