I installed last night CS4 and did my first test project.
For some reason everytime I try to play a videoclip ( source, monitor or timline) it plays the first 2 sec in a loop.
I drag the cursor to a new location and it plays fine for 3-4 sec then it start looping again that last second.
I did my research here but I could not fand a similar problem in this forum.
One more thing a couple of times my computer simply shut down and reboot by itself.

    Can anyone help please?

About my sistem i have XP SP2 and I also have the old version Premiere Pro 2.0 installed. The reason I kept the PPro 2.0 is bacause I have the Matrox Rt.X100 board installed.
I had to uninstall SP3 because it does not support PPro2 and the Matrox card.

[Andrei Valean] “One more thing a couple of times my computer simply shut down and reboot by itself.”

Then your problems are almost certainly system related. Spontaneous rebooting is either a driver problem or a heat problem.

You are clearly way behind in updates if you only have SP2 installed for XP.

    Thanks Eddie
from your experience is it worth it to give up un PPro 2.0 and
matrox Rtx100 card and switch to CS4 100%?
As i said if I upgrade to SP3 it will not work with my PPro 2.0 and RTX100
Last night I also tried to import and downscale from HDV to DV using matrox project in PPro 2.0. Everytime i try to play a clip it will play the audio but the video freeze at the first scene.
I don’t have the same problem if I use a different setting in the project like regular DV or HDV in PPRo

My camcorder records on HDV so even though for the time being the final product with my clients would be the old fashion DVD.

I have never used the Matroc workflow, so I can’t advise you there, but as far as features go, CS4 is much better than 2.0 is. I have no problem with that recommendation.

    Cheers

Thanks Eddie. I did upgrade the XP to SP3 and added 2GB to my RAM. I soulf have 4GB but my System only shows 3GB. I also did all the upgrades for CS4 as requested. In the end it did not solve the problem. I cannot playback from the timeline no matter what I do. Even after rendering the file I jahe the same problem.
The only remaining thing it would be upgrading to Vista.
But I understand the XP should have no problem running CS4.
Is there anything I can do?
