An avi file is created in Premiere from a student project. The file plays just fine on the student’s PC. The file is then transferred via a flash drive to the professor’s laptop. The file plays just fine in VLC. When imported as mono, the file plays correctly in Premiere. If imported as “Same as File” it imports as a stereo file, the waveforms appear in the timeline, the meters bounce correctly, but no sound comes out during the head and tail. ??? Thanks.

What was the codec used for the export. Your best option is AVI with compression set to none.

It’s all DV, all the way through the process.
