  • CS3 project in Premier Pro 2.0 rendering error

Posted by Broskier on August 26, 2007 at 12:36 am

I have a project that was created in CS3 preview (beta version) that i have now imported to Premier Pro 2.0. When I attemp to render it the following error appears:
    \dev\stingray\Backend\Src\FileCache\FileCache.cpp-826
and the program says it needs to close.
Anyone experience this or have any idea how to avoid it?

    thanks much
    Rory

    Projects usually aren’t backward compatible

If the project stays open long enough, you might be able to copy the entire sequence, open a new PP2.0 project and paste onto the new timeline. You may need to apply transitions again though. We have noticed they don’t often make it into the new project…but we have Matrox cards and that adds another layer of sometimes problematic behavior!

Keep your fingers crossed and let us know if it works!

I copied the clips and audio and pasted them in a new PP2 project, but was discouraged when none of the transitions transferred and the first render attempt came up with the same backend error. Not to worry, if at first you don’t succeed, try again. This time no problems, rendered and ready for export. I’ve gone back and added some transitions, and you’d never know the difference…
    thanks for the advice
