For some reason my playback is acting strange in afx CS3 i have about 12 tracks with animating masks with uncompressed 10bit movies and animation files. from particle illusion. They played back smoothly at first but now they are all jumpy and freezing in places?
Ive just got back into using afx from a few years back so im a bit rusty on settings and preferences etc so if anybody could offer me some advice i would appreciate it.
    Thanks Emmet

look at your info pallete…it gives you good information on playback.

    1) are you doing a RAM preview?
    2) does your resolution match your zoom? – 100% @ full 50% @ half…etc.

Animation codec is pretty heavy, depending on your hardware…you may not be able to play back anim codec real time. I wouldn’t trust playing back the anim codec on your desktop as a reliable determination of quality render from AFX.

Take that video into a NLE and play it back…import into AVID, and it will auto transcode to AVID codec, or FCP and Premier will render it to native codec playback.
