January 27, 2008 at 4:38 amWow, now I’m getting this crashing as well when importing. Anyone have any ideas yet? Doesn’t matter if it’s an .avi, .mov or even an image or audio file.
I can open .aep files I’ve made in AE 7.0 and everything is fine, importing into CS3 seems to be the only issue. -

August 14, 2008 at 6:37 pmActually…I’m only able to import files as compositions. So I can import a photoshop file with layers as a comp and I have no problems. However AE CS3 crashes when i try to import any jpeg, mov, avi, wav, or any file as footage.
It’s been very annoying but until this is resolved, I’ve been making projects in premiere with all the things I want to import in AE, then I can import the premiere project as a comp. Ugh, so frustrating!

September 3, 2008 at 1:00 amHi Everyone!
I have the same problem, still no solution for this?
I’m using Vista 64bit operating system and AE CS3 ofcourse.
I’m using this alternative importing method, by importing everything I need into Premiere, but when I want to import a JPEG sequence, or an HDR image, well Premiere can’t import pictures as a sequence, and it doesn’t recognize the HDR image.
So this is really no good.
Please help, if you can.
Thank you in advance! -

September 11, 2011 at 7:21 pmCheck your temporary disk and free as much space as you can ( NOT your AE scratch drive, but temporary disk of your operation system – by default it’s the same disk where it installed, but in some cases it is different drive, check your own settings ).
AE needed some space for itself to create temorary files during work and import.
Hope it will help.
Good luck!
