I just want it off, the way AE7 was.
I have a dvcproHD mov from FCP in CS3 and it looks dark in the viewport and renders out even darker (animation 100%). I have turned off all colour management everywhere and it still renders dark.
There is an option in project setting for “legacy quicktime gamma” and this renders out a bit better but still darker than the orig file. I can find no way to fix this massive issue with CS3.
I just want it to leave my colour alone. If I cannot fix this then I cannot trust AE. I have wasted many hours on this now with no sensible solution.

    anyone?

The same job in AE7 works with no problems at all.

If you have your color management entirely ‘turned off’ then I believe AE uses your monitor’s color space as both the working space and destination space. I think it would be better to use the color management features to your advantage than to throw them out the window and expect everything to work perfectly. I haven’t looked at the help files for this particular problem yet, but I’m sure that Adobe has something in there about it.

How did you capture/compress this DVCPRO HD footage? What is its destination?
