In posting this, I just wanted to point out a situation that we have come across and also wondered if anyone else is having similar thoughts.

We purchased the Adobe Video Collection Pro software suite about 6 months ago. At the time it came with PS CS and all the other great Adobe products. Now, since it has been a little while since the PS CS2 update with no Video Collection update announced, I thought should we upgrade just the PS part of the Video Collection? Well, of course, we want to but, we don

    Shawn,
I’ve never had any issues with upgrades from Adobe. If they come out with a new version within 6 (usually that’s the time frame)months of your purchase, they usually will upgrade for free. I’m not sure of your specific situation. I’m not sure it is a good idea to single out poor Jeremy. I’m sure whatever he said to you was in confidence. He probably would not expect your discussion to be posted on the cow…and if so, it’s probably best to leave his name out.
In any case. I’m sure adobe will do right by you when you are ready to upgrade..They’ve always done the right thing in the past..

Actually I told him I was going to quote him and he didn’t have a problem with it, in fact he repeated what he said in order for me to get it correct.

The time period is 90 days after purchase ( he mentioned that too ) but this topic isn’t really about that. Simply put, in order for me to take advantage of the new CS2 abilities, I will have to buy it twice ( once by itself and the second time when we have to upgrade whenever the next Video Collection comes out ) and will not get a credit for it.

Please don’t misunderstand me – I’m not mad – I just think there is a reasonable amount of folks out there that may be in this same situation and if so, maybe we can get Adobe to help us out. As we all know, the Adobe Video Collection Pro is not a cheap product.

I think the best way to help offset your financial drain is to simply buy Adobe stock (ADBE). That way as they periodically upgrade each individual component of Video collection the share price will go up in a exponential fashion due to the increased revenues of multiple individual upgrades. i.e Golden Parachute (See board of Directors)
