Crystal Text or Chrome look
I seem to be having a problem. I have looked at just about every tutorial (video) on Crystal Text effect, but don’t seem to be able to get that chrome look. I have done everything (exactly) as has been told, but to no avail. Is ther something I may be missing?
1. Create 3 tracks
2. Composite mode track 1 -multiply, track 2 -custom (choose sony height map, and the 3 settings), track 3 – defualt.
3.video on track 3
4 creat text on track 2, pan/crop zoom in a little, key frame beginning to end
5. copy track 2 to track 1 -

Why not just grab a chrome metallic look texture from
google or https://www.sxc.hu .Place it on the bottom track
and the text with the black background on the top track
and set the text track compositing mode to multiply mask
and you are almost done….You can then polish up the
composite using the bump map filter and experiment from
there.
But still its just better and easier to just design your
specialized text in your image editing software, export it
as a png file with a transparent background and your all set
to drop that in Vegas.Steve Rhoden
