Cross-dissolving animation?
I’m having trouble finding the right settings to use for cross dissolve with animation frames – I know there’s a way to do it with actual video footage, but is it any different with animation?

Hey,
I dont iff there is. But what i do is set 2 keyframes, with a difference off 20 frames. If you use the transform opacity(disort>transform)instead off on your layer, you can save it as a animation preset. So whenever you want to add it to a layer go 20 frames(Cmd+G=go to time) before the end of the layer(O) and add that preset.
You can do this with every other transition effect iff you want.Hope this helps

if i understand right, you cant get a proper dissolve working?
if so, this is due to the way AE handles opacity, but the solution would be to set your layer mode for the 2 layers you want to cross dissolve to alpha add and have opacity key frames set for each, one from 0 to 100, the other from 100 to 0
