Has anyone experienced a problem (and pinpointed the cause and found a solution) using cross dissolves in CS5.5 Premiere Pro, where when trying to perform a cross dissolve from simple text over a black background to black, or vice versa from all black to a black background with text, there is a perceptible rise in the black that looks like about a 5 IRE rise during the transition? All settings in the text effects section are set to 100% black, as are the black video segments or slugs.

    Hi George,

Nothing I’ve noticed here. Are you using a BlackMagic card by any chance?

If you are going to black, have you tried a dip to black, going to 50%?

Thx for your response. Answer to yoru quesstion is- I’m not using a BlackMagic card, I am using an NVidia Quadro FX 4800 graphics card. I will try your suggestion on 50% black for the cross desolve.

    Hi George,

My suggestion was a “Dip to Black” effect.
