  • Cross dissolve transition.

    Hi,

first of all, I’m new to Premiere. I imported a video, and cut it in two with the razor tool. Now I want to add the cross dissolve transition to them. I just can’t seem to find how this works. When I look up tutorials on the internet it seems as if they just put the two clips next to each other and drag the transition in between them. When I tried this, of course, the transition just adds to one video. I tried putting a part of one part of the video on top of the other video part, but it seems that this just removes a part of the first video then.

This is probably something very simple but I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this the entire day, I just can’t find it.

    Any help?

If you’re transitioning between two contiguous pieces of the same video, you won’t see the dissolve- because the clip that’s fading in looks exactly the same as the one it’s replacing.

I tried using two different clips this time and it still won’t work. Do I have to make the videos to overlap each other?
