  Cross app email templates

  I am trying to create a customised template in Apple Mail to send to a wide variety of email apps. A friend just tested it in Gmail but the email arrives basically cut to ribbons. And there are further problems with background images in Outlook 2007.

  Anyone have any tips on how to create a truly cross-platform, cross-app solution?
