Cropping after effects layer in premiere
Why can’t I crop an after effects composition imported into premiere? My brain is melting. Anyone have a way around this?

Select the AE COMP in the sequence.
Go to the Effects Control tab and check out the Opacity section.
On my system, if I double click on the AE COMP it opens it in the Source panel.
Then I have to open the Effects Control tab. A bit more kludgy on my set-up.
