Cropping 16:9 into 4:3
I have some footage shot in 16:9 that I’m trying to turn into 4:3 (cropped, not letterboxed– I’m trying to make the footage look like old TV).
It was originally shot and edited on an HVX200 at 720p 30pn. What I’ve tried so far is just creating a 4:3 sequence and putting the footage into that, then resizing (making it larger) it to fill the whole frame. Some of the trouble may be that I’m not sure I’m using the best sequence settings on the 4:3 version, but it seems like when I do this I lose more quality than I should (I know some is to be expected, but it gets a little more digital-looking than I think it could).
Any suggestions for a good workflow/way to do this?
Thanks!
