The composition size will determine the size of your rendered video, which will determine whether or not your video ‘fits’ on a plasma screen. Of course, there are different plasma TVs with different resolutions. Do you want 1280×720 (720p) or 1920×1080 (1080i/p)? There are composition presets for each of these in the New Composition or Composition Settings windows.

If any of this seems new to you then I suggest you read through the manual (F1).

Thanks but what i meant was that i am trying to crop some video that I shot to make it look like it were playing on a cut out picture of a plasma tv. I need to make it look like my video is playing on this cut out still photography of a plasma. i have trying masking the video to fit on the tv but it takes alittle time getting the mask the exact right size. i was wondering if there was an easier way to crop footage in aftereffects like you can i fcp.

    thanks again

    Try the corner pin effect.
