I posted this question in the Basic forum but got no replies – perhaps it is not as basic as I thought.

That should be pretty basic but I am stumped. I have split screen with three tracks showing. All are 16:9. I’ve placed two track on the right, one on top of the other. I would like the third track to fit on the left without resizing but cropped to a vertical without changing the aspect ratio in such a way that it only shows center part of the video. Or alternatively, crop all three to vertical strips, side by side. (I don’t mean flipping vertically.) I hope that my explanation is clear enough.

[Andrew Jezierski] “I would like the third track to fit on the left without resizing but cropped to a vertical without changing the aspect ratio in such a way that it only shows center part of the video. “

In the Pan/Crop tool there are buttons alone the left side. One of them disables the Maintain Aspect Ratio option so that you can crop to any size you want. This will let you crop the center vertically.
