Crop Tool (pixel specific and order of operation)
Hey guys,
I have some 1920×1080 footage captured from TV which has very small black bars on each side of it. I plan on resizing it down to 1280×720 and in the process cropping out the black bars. I know for example that the top has 4 pixels worth of black that need to be removed, but the Crop filter is in percentages. If I just eyeball it the frame is so small that I can’t really distinguish between 4 pixels or 6 pixels or whatever. Sure you say what’s the big deal, it’s just 2 pixels, but it’s the principle of the thing 🙂 Now I could “do the math” and work out the percentage, but it seems like there should be an easier way that I can use in the future without having to resort to the calculator. Does anybody know a way to do pixel specific cropping in Premiere CC?
The second part of the question is order of operation. Because I’m resizing to 1280×720 I’m using Scale to Frame Size, so the question becomes when I do a Crop of 4 pixels off the top and Zoom it is that going:
A) 1920×1080 -> 1920×1076 -> 1280×720
Or:
B) 1920×1080 -> 1280×720 -> 1280×716 -> 1280×720
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
