Got a video that I have to insert into a window frame of a picture.
    BUT: I gotta:
    1) crop, select portion of video
    2) then make it into a silhouette effect…
Kinda like you see a silhouetted portion of someone moving inside the window.
Once the vid’s rendered, I’ll resize it to fit into window. But I gotta do this crop + silhouette thing first.
    Please advise?

it depends on your footage- it may be a roto job or just a levels issue- post a still and we can help some more.

    Thanks for your response:
here’s a still from the vid

And here’s a link to what it’s supposed to look like. Basically, the site’s in FLASH, but I gotta make everything into html…I’m working on creating the moving silhouettes from the above vid.

The cleanest way to do it is still roto work- draw a mask and animate to match the silhouette.
However you may still want to try playing with levels to see if you can get a clean enough image (pull color out and get black and white, mask the rest with white- this way you have the jumping man in black only) and use autotrace to get a shape.
