I am experimenting using 2/3 inch lenses on a Sony EX3. What is the “crop Factor” I am using a lens with a 300mm telephoto..

    Thanks in advance

I think this is what you are looking for.

When going to a half inch sensor (ex3) from a 2/3″ lens (b4, sony mount) You use a 1.3 multiplier. So your standard Canon or Fuji HD zoom lens 7.6-137mm (7.6×18) you get the equivalent of a 10.34mm x 186mm, in terms of a 35mm camera system. This would apply for putting a Fuji ACM 18 or 21 adapter on your camera and mounting a “pro video lens”.

If you want the 35mm equivalent from a half inch sensor you use a 5.4 multiplier. The EX3 standard zoom lens is 5.8mm which is the equivalent of a 31mm lens (in 35mm terms)

    Hope that helps

Thanks for the info. So if I put my 2/3 in 19×8 that would be 152mm on the TELE end, with the 2x extender that equals 304mm, times the 1.3 factor equals 395mm. So in 35mm terms, 395mm x 5.4 equals 2133mm. Wow, no wonder I was seeing fleas on Trump’s hair @ 1000ft…
