I have a minute and a half trailer that I’m trying to export to a Windows Media format. I’ve tried exporting directly from within Final Cut Pro 5.1 using the Quicktime Conversion option and I’ve even tried exporting a Quicktime file directly from Quicktime Pro with the same results.

For some reason, it will only encode the first 30 secs of the trailer, no matter what I seem to try! Very strange. I’ve been able to export to other formats without a problem and there is no out point mistakenly selected on my timeline… any ideas what might be causing this? Do I need some sort of update, perhaps? (I updated Quicktime Pro to 7.1.5 and that didn’t seem to help, surprisingly.)

You might have the trial version of Flip4Mac installed. It linits you to 30 second clips. Try the full version:

    jodyberry,

i’ll bet you’re on to something here. because it is exactly thirty seconds that exports. my question is do i have to purchase the full download then? this is where your link seems to take me. that’s fine if i do, i was just wondering if i was missing something – perhaps a free download to a fuller version.

    thanks for your quick response!
