I am trying to make a video cd in which I have to make 20 copies. I have it rendered to WMV, however, I believe the only way to burn a WMV on a cd (not a dvd) is to drop and drag? I don’t really want to do that for all copies, but my cd copier is not recognizing it.
Is there a way to burn a cd through architect or am I way off base for this?

My ultimate goal is for people to be able to play it on their computers. But I realize that a lot of people do not have dvd players on their computers…especially around my area.

Create one CD with the video file on it and then use a free burning utility like ImgBurn to create an ISO image of the CD and then burn multiple copies from the ISO image (which ImgBurn will also do).

Vegas has the capability to make a true Video CD (if this is indeed what you want).
It’s under Tools – Burn CD – Video CD.
BTW, MPEG-1 files are created for a Video CD so make sure your source video is as clean as possible.
After you burn the first one, use John’s suggestion for the rest of them.

Yes. I see what you mean about the quality of the video.
Some of my pictures in my movie are architectural drawings so they are not showing up clear.

My primary goal is this: I want to have a movie from Vegas which is going to be the most compatible for people to watch it on their computer.

Would that be a dvd or cd? What format would you recommend?

Best quality would be obained by burning to a Blu-ray disc but my guess is that’s not an option 🙂
Having said that, a DVD should give you acceptable quality.

“Some of my pictures in my movie are architectural drawings so they are not showing up clear.”

Are these high res scans or images from a digital still camera?
Either way, the following suggestions are applicable to both.

I’m working with construction students right now who brought in some high-res floor plans that they had scanned.
If the entire plan is shown, the quality just isn’t there due to the very fine lines used in the drawing.
My suggestion to both them and you is to use the Pan/Crop feature built into Vegas.
Pick a particular feature that you want to emphasize and use the Pan/Crop tool to zoom in on it.
You can also use an app like Photoshop to crop a large image into several smaller ones (save the results in PNG format) and display that section on the screen.
When you render for DVD, use Best mode as this will help to maintain a slightly higher image quality.

The drawings show up pretty acceptable when I made a dvd…

My primary concern is when people are doing a bulk marketing cd/dvd for a small business, what are they putting these on? CD or DVDs? I am afraid that most people would not have a computer that runs dvds…

Would it be a problem to put a MPEG-2 on a cd? It seems like that quality is pretty good.

(Not as good as Blue-Ray..but I am living in Backwater Wisconsin…most people think a Blue Ray is some time of fish 🙂

I am a Wisconsite, so I can say that.

No post house that I know of is creating anything but DVDs these days.
I work for a local community college and all our (video) promo material goes out on DVD.
Even if the end user doesn’t have a DVD drive in their computer, odds are they have a DVD player and TV set somewhere.
