I’ve got a project where the original DV tapes don’t have timecode. I’d like to add hidden timecode to the digital files on my computer, save that as the new source footage, hand a disk off with timecode burned in, and hand them off to my volunteer assistant for logging.

I have no idea how to do this with Vegas Pro 9.

    The process in my mind:
    1. Load all files on each tape into Vegas Pro
    2. Add hidden timecode.
    3. Save new file with the hidden timecode as the new source footage (as “RC09_T1_Timecode” for example).
    4. Display a timecode window in the video.
    5. Save another version (as “RC09_T1_burnedTimecode” for example)
    6. Burn the file to DVD for my assistant to log.

Any help would be appreciated, including a pointer to an existing thread about this, where there is no existing timecode in the source material. Thanks in advance.
