    HI there,

just having a go at playing around with the brilliant ‘old tv’ plug in for fcp 7, its doing some of the work, but not all for what I have in mind. I can slide the image over and over, saturate the picture, cause it to ‘wave’, add scan lines etc, but i want to do this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm6qzQGTBPc&feature=related

i’m talking about 00.13 secs – 00.14 secs. It happens again at the end too. The coloured lines, the screen splitting into 4 uneven sections dissected by a big bold cross running through the frame etc. I can do the colour work, and i could probably work out how to split the screen like that and then i’ll just slide it, but its the twisting and warping that im interested in! and the stripes of coloured noise – how would you go about creating this effect?

any creative ideas? anything you can help with would be greatly appreciated. i’m getting some really good feedback on stuff from this forum and its helped me come on leaps and bounds doing this edit.
    Thanks again,

    Jack 🙂

Output your clips to VHS. Then recapture them and adjust the tracking. Or if you have a section that you want that to happen to. Play until you get there…then eject the tape, open the door, and manually crinkle it.

    hi shane

thanks for the reply. thought of this only thing is that i’d need a really old vhs player, they don’t seem to make them with tracking knobs anymore. I think i’ll have a go at sourcing an older one.

Also, i was hoping to do it without getting all the degeneration along with it, so if anyone knows of a simple (or not so simple) way of doing this in FCP then please let me know!

    Thanks shane!

    Jack 🙂
