I have two very long shoots where hard drive sound was recorded, once for three hours during a surgery, once for one hour, during a clothes shopping scene. I’m loathe to string out three hours of sound with black where there’s no picture sync, thinking that size timeline could choke FCPX. In tutorials for older versions of FCPX, the answer was to create Smart Collections. I’m getting beyond my tech knowledge here, so apologies if i don’t understand. It would be great to see each clip grouped together in one Event, like a series of Events linked together, so I can quickly go from picture sync to VO only. The older tutorials I saw weren’t showing this. Is that what creating Smart Collections would do? Is it possible and if not what do you recommend.
    thanks,
    Roger
