  • Creating Stained Glass effect with evenly sized tiles?

Posted by Al Jensen on September 13, 2010 at 9:06 pm

Hey there, I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on how to do a sort of Stained Glass texture effect, but instead of the randomly shaped tiles, using evenly shaped/sized and reproducible ones such as squares or hexagons.

Patchwork can kind of do it, but the size of the squares are limited, and it does a weird overlay effect to get gradients which I don’t want.

Any help would be appreciated? Thanks!

Squares: downsize image to pixels = tile number. Then, upsize back to original image and make sure Rresample image is off.

    Hex: dunno

Very interesting, and cool idea. That’s pretty close to what I was looking for. Thanks!
