  • creating round objects?

anyone know the best way to make a basketball, globe, baseball, etc?

i put a world map on a round object as after bringing it in and creating a material from it, but it left a funny shaped seam in the back of the sphere.

anyone know how to make this happen? is there a place on the web that has photos designed to wrap around spheres?

    thanks in advance!!!

    Hi Micah Ginn,

You can use a sphere primative for all of those round objects. Search the web for planet texture maps and you’ll find some free sites as well as some pay sites. I’ve found some for a variety of balls as well as planets. You can certainly buy textures meant for spheres and hemispheres as well.

And I should mention Serge’s excellent series of Invigorator projects which include a lot of high-quality objects.
